Sleeping is Such Sweet Sorrow

images-2

Close your eyes and go to sleep

Let your lashes lay across your lids

Drifting softly

Fluttering at gentle thoughts

Quivering at grating threats

Quieting persistant stress

Risen with the sun

Put to rest then darkness

Color shadows dance

Lips began to smile

Your thoughts subdued

By thoughtless ignorance

Bliss escapes

Breaths slow

Till morning

Pace quickens

Tension thickens

Stress finds it home

In your pupils

The light gleams dim

Perhaps one day

I will see

Who I saw

Before the sleep set in
